Troop Overnighter Postponed

The campout scheduled for October 28-29 has been postponed due to the forecast for bad weather and the Wheatland-Chili Boys Soccer Sectional game on Saturday. Stay tuned for the new date. This event will most likely be moved from lean-to camping to lodge camping. A "Father/Son" campout was suggested.

A Message From Scoutmaster Al Hellaby

"Hi Everyone,
I hope everyone had a GREAT summer. Now that fall is in the air and we gave you all a little extra time to get settled back into the school routine, it is time to start thinking Scouts. Our first meeting of the season is October 23rd at 7:00 PM. We are going to start out the year with a Court of Honor, so everyone can get those merit badges from summer camp. Also if there are any of you ready to advance you will need to get to me before the end of this week so there is time to schedule a Board of Review. We will also discuss this coming year's calendar as we have cut back the number of meetings due to the fact most all of your advancement will be based on merit badge work.

There is a Merit Badge University planned for Saturday, November 4. If you are interested you need to let me know ASAP as classes are filling up fast. I am hoping to get some of our committee members to run a class or two that day so there will be more space for everyone who wants to participate. Info can also be found on our website at www.Troop140BSA.com.
If you have any questions please give me a call and I hope to see you soon."
Thanks,
Mr. Hellaby

Activities scheduled for the month of October will include a Court of Honor and an Overnighter.

A Court of Honor will be held Monday night, Oct. 23. The awards ceremony will include rank advancement and Merit Badges earned over the Summer at Massawepie. It's not too late to finish up "partial" merit badges. Please contact me at ScouterMark@aol.com or call when you are available to finish up Family Life MB and/or Cit. in the Community MB.
Contact your other MB counselors if you desire to have those completed. Deadline to hand in Blue Cards to Mr. Hellaby is Wed. Oct. 18. Refreshments will be served after the ceremony followed by a short troop meeting. Open to all...bring your family and friends.

A Troop overnighter is planned for the weekend of Oct. 28-29. We will most likely be lean-to camping at either Camp Cutler or Sam Wood. Activities on Saturday may include rifle shooting, archery, trail hiking, and mudball. We will be patrol cooking. Prepare for the weather. Details to follow. Visit www.Troop140BSA.com

Boy Scout Troop 140 Eagle Scout Project

A small group of available scouts, scouters, and friends spent a nice sunny Saturday recently working on Nick M.'s Eagle project. The project focused on color marking the network of trails at Oatka Creek Park (Scottsville) in the Town of Wheatland. The goal of this project is to keep park users safe and from getting lost.

There are other projects currently being created to benefit the community.
